Another of Waveland's old and respected citizens has passed to his reward. Daniel Garwood died at about 1 o'clock Wed. morning. He had been in failing health for some time, but had been really sick only a few days. He was walking about the house only a few hours before he was stricken with apoplexy on Monday night. He never rallied, but passed away as if going to sleep, and suffered no pain. Mr. Garwood was b. in Logan Co Ohio Oct 20, 1824. In 1845, he married Maris Lane in the same County and immediately after their marr. they came to IN. He had lived here or in this vicinity for 30 years and his gentle nature endeared him to every one. None ever knew "Uncle Dan" to injure any one by word or deed, and all entertained the kindliest feelings toward the courteous old gentleman. His wife, two sons and five daughters survive him. Funeral services were held at the family residence yesterday morning, conducted by Rev. SV McKee. Mr. Garwood had been an honored member of the Masonic fraternity for many years and that organization had charge of the funeral. - kbz
